Company Profile	:	Ramanayake Automobiles (pvt) Ltd., Was Started About 1974 As A Local Second �hand Car Company. The Founders Were Mr. K.p.w. Ramanayake And Mrs. N. Ramanayake. It Is The Hard Work And The Untiring Effort Of Mr.& Mrs. Ramanayake, For The Last 35 �40 Years That Has Brought �up The Company To This State Of Excellence. At The Start, There Were About Five Employees On Our Staff. Most Of The Work Was Done On Contract Basis. When Sri Lanka Entered Open Economy In 1977, Things Changed And New Companies Started Importing Used Vehicles From England, Singapore, Japan Etc., In Addition To The Few Existing Brand New Vehicle Companies. Our Company Too Started Importing Used And Re-conditioned Vehicles From Japan In About 1982. The Two Main Banks Were, Bank Of Ceylon And Peoples Bank In Fort With No Other Branches. We Must Remember Mr. M.m. Nizar Of M/s M.m. Organization With Thanks For Giving Us A Helping-hand To Start In The Field Of Imports. More And More Banks Like Oman Bank, Commercial Bank, Seylan Bank, Appeared In Every Part Of The Country. They Gave Us Better Facilities And Services To Compete With State Banks. Our First Venue Was No. 28, Dharmarama Road, Wellawattaa, With A Small Office .(a Part Of Our Living Abode And A Small Shed To Cover About 10 Vehicles). Most Of The Vehicles Were Lying Outside On Either Side Of The Road, Facing All Weather Day & Night. Still We Had Earned A Good Name For Honest And Good Service In The Field Of Vehicle Trade. Little By Little, We Expanded Our Business And Were Forced To Find A Better And A Bigger Place. So We Reached Our New Venue At No. 215, Galle Road, Ratmalana, In 1984 With A Small Two Roomed Office And About 10(ten) Employees, But A Bigger Yard. This Was A, Much Luckier Place And We Could Build Up-to An Honorable And A Prestigious Name And Give Our Customers A Better Service. One Of Our Young Directors, Mr. Jagath Chandana Ramanayake, Leaving For Japan For Studies, Made Our Task Easier. While He Complete His Studies To Acquire B.a Degree And Mba. In Business Management In A Japanese University, He Marched Forward To Form His Own Company-rama D B K Ltd; To Export Vehicles To All Parts Of The World. As Such In 2002-2003 After Labouringly For Over Thirty-five Years, We Were Able To Put-up A Fantastic, Beautiful Building In Place Of Our Vehicle Yard.
